I am doing visual development for my animation project; just playing around with Promarkers, brush pen and watercolour, and then editing in Photoshop.
I’d like to practice drawing backgrounds and sceneries, as I usually avoid it when making a drawing. There’s a Facebook group I’ve recently joined called ‘Daily Spitpaint’ which gives topics each day, and you produce a piece based on one of those themes under a strict limit of 30 minutes. I realise I haven’t posted on here for a while, or just not as often as I used to. I’ve been busy with the first 8 weeks of my foundation art & design course at AUB (can’t believe it’s been 8 weeks!), which I’m enjoying very much. I think my favourite parts so far have been the life drawing sessions. In the next stage of the course we specialise in one of the pathway choices, i.e. Illustration, Film & Animation, Graphic Design, and work within that pathway for the rest of the year. I can’t decide which one to take!
Often I don’t get around to making a post on here, but sometimes I post doodles or works in progress on my newly created Instagram..! (slightly late) - http://instagram.com/sammyjaayne
I’ll try to post more often and share some of the things I have made and learned on my course so far. Recently I read a book that I’d seen a lot of people talking about, called “Steal Like an Artist” (10 things nobody told you about being creative) by Austin Kleon – it was just brilliant and I’d definitely recommend it!
Also I really appreciate the new followers I have gained on this blog, so thank you!
